The Types of Hacksaw Blade

Hacksaw blades come in many different varieties. Some of these types are more appropriate for cutting wood, metal, or PVC pipes than others. Curved Blade:

Unlike the straight blade, a curved blade will have a more extended blade portion. This blade is most commonly used in a table saw. The curve makes it easier to cut curves and shapes without having to worry about hitting them or damaging them.

Reverse blade:

The reverse blade types include slot cutters. These are the same as the straight blades but the slots are in the shape of a slot instead of a straight line. This option is useful when a person is cutting boards or other large items because the blade's width is bigger than that of the board it is cutting. Another benefit to this type of saw is the ease of sharpening. With the slots, it is much easier to create evenly spaced cuts because the slots are not sharp.

There are other blade types available for the hacksaw. One of these options includes the v-groove blades. These blades include a flat surface on one side of the blade which allows the wood to pass through it easily. A diamond pattern is also engraved into this flat surface of the blade. This option is commonly used by furniture makers for interior designs on shelves.

A flush cut blade looks similar to the flat side of the hack, except it does not include a slot. The drop cut blade is the same as the flat blade, except it includes a lip on the edge.
